Q. Where and when do I meet with Shamrock Fishing Captains?

 Tampa fishing begins by meeting your Captain at one of the many agreed marinas or boat ramps in Tampa Bay. Call (813) 545-5639 the night before the  fishing charter and Shamrock will let you know the time to be at the dock (the time to meet the captain varies, depending on weather and tidal conditions).

Q. What kind of boat will we be fishing from?

The Shamrock Fleet boats are only the best money can buy, Salty Shamrock is a 22′ Ranger Bay Boat.  Equipped with a Yamaha 250 2-stroke engine, jack plate, and trolling motor, Salty Shamrock can fish in the shallow (12″) bays in the back country as well as the deep waters of Skyway bridge.  It has a T-top for shade on hot days.  It's weight offers the stability needed to fish on windy days. It can comfortably seat 4 anglers *if a family with small children wants to go, it can be up to 5 people. A large casting deck can accommodate up to 4 anglers at one time (this doesn’t even take into consideration the back or side of the boat’s fishability). Salty is equipped with full electronics including a sound system.

The Popa Shamrock a is 24' custom designed  towerboat  built by HammerHead Boat Works of Tampa Bay.  Popa Shamrock's  Flatback haul desisgn allows it to draft in skinniest of waters or handled like a Champ out in the bay! Popa fishes up to six anglers and is the perfect vessel on eco, sight seeing, shelling and beach trips!

Q. What do we catch?

 Tampa fishing in the Summer: Tarpon, Redfish, Snook, Spotted Sea Trout, Mackerel, Snappers, Bluefish, Grouper, Cobia, Shark and more. In the Winter: Spotted Sea trout, Redfish, Flounder, Ladyfish, Cobia, Grouper, small sharks and sheepshead.  Additionally, your camera might be able to catch sting rays, manatees, dolphins, pelicans, ospreys and other wild life.

Q. Can I keep my fish?

 Shamrock Charters encourages catch and release practices. To learn more go to catchandrelease.org However, if  do decide to keep your catch Capt. Sean will be happy to clean and package your fish for you. A Hook & Cook can also be arranged at your nearby O'Briens Irish Pub & Family resturaunt. Ask captain Sean for more details.

While in Florida if you wish to pick up clothing to wear while fishing, sunglasses, a fishing hat, or anything remotely related to fishing, go to Shamrock's Eupro Proshop (store) page. If you let Capt. Sean know, he will be happy to deliver your purchases to you at the boat ramp.

Q. Is there any way to commemorate this special day of fishing with Shamrock Fishing Charters?

Per request, we will take pictures of you getting on the boat and several hook ups with fish, we use both video and still shots. These will be compiled and sent to you via email. Memories to last a life time.
